Life Dream: workshop on the recovery of fishermen's plastic
The workshop with fishermen "From the collection of marine waste to the production of marine diesel for the benefit of fishermen" is scheduled for Saturday 29 June 2024 from 10.30 am, at the Prospero Rendella Civic Library of the Municipality of Monopoli, organized by the Municipality of Monopoli and the Life Dream project.
It will be an opportunity to talk about the project financed by the European Union and which among the many activities also includes the application of a virtuous model of circular economy.
One of the components is the active participation of fishermen, who accidentally recover large quantities of plastic during their fishing activity. With Life Dream yes, you will experiment with an innovative technology capable of transforming plastic into second generation fuel. This is a project whose aims also include strengthening the commitment of fishermen in safeguarding and protecting our seabed. It is a virtuous model that returns economic value to fishing operators, rewarding their commitment and resilience.
The city of Monopoli is only the first stage of a much larger project which will subsequently also involve the island of Ischia, Greece and Spain.
